Leonie trained as in Image Consultant in 1996 with Colours in Harmony. In 2001 she upskilled her knowledge with Carol Spenser from Style Directions who is one of UK's leading image consultants. Because of Leonie's passion and belief in ongoing education, she sat and passed the universal exam from the Association of Image Consultants International. Leonie is the first New Zealander to achieve this qualification.

Business
Leonie is current Chair of the Jackson Street Programme, Petone, Wellington.  This is to encourage both Council, and businesses to work together to create a  destination shopping experience.  

Leonie has been on the Board member of the Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Audit & Finance Committee. 

Leonie founded Wellington Dress for Success - which is a charity to help women on no/or low incomes dress in appropriate business clothing for job interviews. This is something she has started to enable her to give her knowledge back to the community.
